Fox Funeral Home and Cremation Services remains committed to serving families in the wake of the COVID-19/Novel Coronavirus pandemic. Whenever possible, It is our goal to assist families in continuing to participate in the rituals that will assist them through the grieving process.
As a member of the National Funeral Directors Association & Nebraska Funeral Directors Association we are continually receiving the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Solutions District Health Department and other entities. While we understand this is an extremely difficult time for the families we serve, it is in the best interest to protect our community and staff so we will be following the CDC's current protocol for public gatherings. This protocol is fluid and could change day to day, we will keep you informed and are always happy to talk with you and answer questions.
According to the CDC, at this time there is no known risk of contracting COVID-19/Novel Coronavirus by being in the same room as the body of someone who died from confirmed or suspected COVID-19. Depending on the family’s preference, their loved one can be safely embalmed. Families may choose either burial or cremation as usual.
Our staff remains committed to cleaning our facilities and ensuring that we are all following recommended healthy habits such as washing our hands, covering our sneezing or coughing and staying home when feeling ill. As always, we use the highest standards in keeping our facilities clean and sanitary.
Until we receive guidance to do otherwise, we will abide by the following guidelines as put in place by our government officials and recommendations from the CDC and limit attendance at a funeral/memorial service. We will compensate for this by continuing to have extended visitations so that loved ones may visit and pay their respects. We are looking into alternative methods to provide viewing of the funeral services to the public.
