Obituary for Donald G. Sugden

Donald G. Sugden, 76, of Adams died at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Friday morning, October 27, 2017. He was born May 21, 1941 at Tecumseh and graduated from Adams High School. He married Jean Glynn on April 19, 1969 at St. Mary, Nebraska.
They lived and farmed in the Adams area most all of their lives. He was a member of the former United Methodist Church of Sterling, Harm Sangen Post #140 of Sterling. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Adams; three sons, Steven (Robin) Sugden of Adams, Stanley (Lena) Sugden of Greeley, CO and Dennis (Lacey) Sugden of Seward; ten grandchildren, Taylor, Colby, Tristan, Bryce, Tyler, Desiree, RaeLynn, Layla, Kendra and Darien; two sisters, Joanne Recker of Beatrice and Marilyn (Robert) Scheinost of Lincoln; two brothers, Duane (Rosie) Sugden of Sterling and Darrell Sugden of Adams; 3 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Behrns Sugden; brother-in-law, Robert Recker and nephew, Kevin Recker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Adams with Pastor Rob Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery of Sterling. A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the church on Wednesay. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Harm Sangen Post #140 of the American Legion of Sterling. A memorial has been established to Gold Crest Retirement Center with the funeral home in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday and at the church one hour preceding the services on Wednesday. The family will meet and greet friends and other relatives on Monday at Fox Funeral Home in Adams from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Fox Funeral Home of Adams in charge of arrangements.
