Obituary for Harold E. Pfeiffer

Harold E. Pfeiffer, 97, of Beatrice passed away in a Lincoln hospital on Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born July 24, 1922 at Clatonia and graduated from Clatonia High School in 1940. He then attended Doane College at Crete. He married Betty June Hart at the First Christian Church of Beatrice and they lived and farmed in the Clatonia area. After Betty’s death in 1986, he was married to Marilyn J. Jones on January 16, 1988 at Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice. He was a former member of the Hallam United Methodist Church. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the Break and Swing Square Dance Club both of Beatrice.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Beatrice; step-children, Janet (Robin) Weathers of Parker, AZ, Scott (Lynette) Jones of Carson City, NV, Kenton (Pamela) Jones of Lincoln; sister, Verla Inderlied of California; sister-in-law, Rose Lee Pfeiffer of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Caroline Oltman Pfeiffer; his first wife Betty, who died in 1986; brother, Harley Pfeiffer; sister and brother-in-law, Vernelle (Oren) Fix.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 A.M. in the church library. A memorial has been established to the Music Department at CUMC. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. Fox Funeral Home and Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
