Obituary for Anna Jobman

Anna Elizabeth (Johnsen) Jobman, 95, of Beatrice died Friday afternoon August 23, 2019 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on December 22, 1923 at Beatrice and baptized on January 24, 1924 and confirmed on April 2, 1939. She lived north of Filley and attended Filley District #156 country school. She married Ernest Jobman on January 19, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and currently a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice. She was a member of WELCA Joy Circle and former member of Gideon Auxiliary (Beatrice camp). She was a charter member of the quilting social and Contented Gals Extension Club. Anna enjoyed socializing, visiting shut-ins, sewing, quilting, gardening, flowers, playing cards, making baptismal banners, and volunteering at the local nursing homes. She was creative and could create something out of nothing. She also enjoyed activities at the Beatrice Senior Center and had a special interest in 4-H, encouraging her children and grandchildren to learn and participate in the program.

Survivors include twin daughters, Marilyn Folkerts of Adams and Marian DeBuhr and husband Lorentze of Beatrice, daughter, Lynette Jurgens (friend, Duane Ruh) of Beatrice; son, Don Jobman and wife Malinda of Beatrice; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tammy) DeBuhr, Kristin (Tony) Hoffman, Jennifer DeBuhr (Angela Mittan) Jessica DeBuhr (Howard Brown) Julie (Kevin) Monfelt, Jill Jobman, Joni (Nathan) Schwab, Alisa (Matthew) Knipe, Aimee (Todd) Semin, and Darick (Sarah) Jurgens; 17 great-grandchildren, Zackary, Zane, and Abbie Hoffman, Kaylyn, Maggie, and Paxton Parde, Evan and Gracelyn Mittan-DeBuhr, Helayna DeBuhr, Javian Brown, Bailey and Mallory Schwab, Michael and Eric Knipe, Seth Semin, Drew and Cooper Jurgens; step-sister, Margaret Hadley of Cincinnati, OH; special caregiver, Teresa McLellan; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Emma (Dorn) Johnsen; step-mother, Thelma (Tjaden) Johnsen; her husband Ernest, who died August 9, 1995; son-in-law, Gerald Folkerts; grandson, Greg Ryan Folkerts; great-granddaughter, Abriel Schwab; sister, Tena Steinkamp; step-sister, Dorothy Tjaden; brothers-in-law, Ernest Steinkamp, Henry Lieneman, John Jobman, Wilfred Jobman, Lester Dorn, Raymond Stevens, and LeRoy Jobman; sisters-in-law, Tena Lieneman, Theda Jobman, Irene Dorn, Irene Jobman, and Rosetta Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice with Pastor Chuck Bentjen officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 P.M. Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with Mark and Karen Jobman and David and Lisa Oltmans in charge. The body will lie in state on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Friday. The family will greet relatives and friends Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
