Obituary for Marjorie G. Parde

Marjorie G. Parde, 84, of Beatrice formerly of Adams died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Beatrice Health and Rehab surrounded by her family. She was born on July 9, 1933 at Adams. She attended Coffman Country School of rural Adams and on August 16, 1950, she married Melvin Parde at the American Lutheran Church of Adams. She worked at the Beatrice Community Hospital in the housekeeping department before working at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams in housekeeping department. She was a former member of the American Lutheran Church of Adams where she was baptized and confirmed and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, where she was a member of a ladies circle. She was a volunteer at the Vets Hospital in Lincoln and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Beatrice. Marjorie will be remembered as a farmer’s wife as she helped and worked with Melvin on the farm their whole life.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Lopez of Lincoln, two sons, Ron Parde and wife Ruth of Beatrice and Randy Parde and wife Bobbie of Waverly; five grandchildren, Brandon Parde and wife Jessica, Celeste Glanz and husband Rick, Kimberly Durow and husband Steve, Kelley Parde and Lindsey Parde; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Alberta Monroe of Denver; special friends, Norvin and Linda Buhr; nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Parde; parents, Henry and Katherine Dorsey Harms; one son-in-law, John Lopez; two brothers, Edward Harms and wife Katherine and Raymond and wife Katie Harms; four sisters, Betty Lou Parde and husband Heye, Dorothy Ideus and husband Albert, Elaine Monroe and husband Orville and Rachel Wentz and husband Ernest; one brother-in-law, Laverne Monroe; one sister-in-law, Idella Mahler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. at the church on Saturday. A memorial has been established to the Zion Lutheran Church with Duane Parde and Eric Parde in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. Thursday to 9:00 P.M. Friday and at the church one hour preceding the services on Saturday. The family will meet and greet friends and relatives at the Fox Funeral Home on Friday from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. www.foxfuneralhome.net Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
