Obituary for Lowell Rahe

Lowell C. Rahe, 82, of Beatrice, died Saturday morning, October 14, 2017 at a Lincoln hospital. He was born on June 5, 1935 at DeWitt and graduated from DeWitt High School. He married Alberta Damrow on May 29, 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice and they lived in Beatrice. He worked for American Tool Company (Petersen Mfg. Co.) in DeWitt for 45 years and worked through the ranks to plant superintendant. He served with the Nebraska National Guard from 1957 – 1963. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Eagles Aerie #531, and the American Legion all of Beatrice. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s activities, traveling, playing cards and shuffle board, and the events at the Beatrice Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Rahe of Beatrice; one son, Kevin Rahe of Beatrice; one daughter, Jennifer Mahler and husband Kent of Adams; four grandchildren, Paige, Kolby, and Savannah Mahler of Adams and Blaz Hildebrand of Central City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Emma Tonnies Rahe, sister, Helen (Lee) Genrich, four brothers, Marvin (Evelyn), Raymond (Arline), Harold (Evelyn), and Vernon “Bud” (Mabel) Rahe, and two nephews, Bradley Rahe and Ronald Rahe.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Dirk Reek officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. on Thursday in the fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Beatrice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from Tuesday noon until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Thursday. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
