Obituary for Dorothy Mae Lidolph

Dorothy Mae (Dissmeyer) Lidolph, 84, of Adams, formerly of Cortland, died at the Gold Crest Retirement Center on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She was born on May 27, 1934 at the Mennonite Hospital in Beatrice and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She attended Townsend Country School and later received her GED. She married Wayne Lidolph on February 28, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. They lived in Beatrice until 1971 and then returned to her family’s farm where they raised hogs. She was a farmwife for many years and also did housekeeping at the Beatrice Manor, Lakeview Care Center in Firth, and Beatrice Holiday Inn Express. She also worked at Formfit for over 30 years. She was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell.

Survivors include one son, Tracy Lidolph of Cortland; former daughter-in-law, LuAnn Bruner; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Lidolph; step-granddaughter, Rochelle (Shane) Streebin; step-grandson, John Bruner; step-great-granddaughter, Shianna Karst; step-great-grandson, Aaren Jean Radin; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Grace Nelson Dissmeyer; her husband, Wayne, who died on March 5, 1987; an infant brother; in-laws, Kenny and Helen (Lidolph) Willet, and Ernie and Norma Jean “Toby” (Lidolph) Siefkes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell with Pastor Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday in the church annex. A memorial has been established to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund or for future designation to stroke research with Diane Harms and Carol Harms in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. Thursday until 9:00 P.M. Friday and then at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. www.foxfuneralhome.net.
